Anger/Cancer drawings

This sequence of works started with a conversation with Roanne Dods (1965-2017). She was ill with oesophageal cancer when I was diagnosed with the same condition. The drawings explore anger, thinking about Wendell Berry’s comment, “An art that heals is a geography of scars.” (Paul Kingsnorth ed., 2017. The World-Ending Fire: The Essential Wendell Berry. London: Allen Lane. p101). They have been featured as part of a Statement in Leonardo Vol 53 No 1 2020.
